Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit the North Caucasian Federal District to participate in an opening ceremony of a Year of Teacher and Mentor, the Kremlin press service reported.
The ceremony will take place at the Mashuk educational center in Pyatigorsk. Putin will bestow state awards, meet with the participants of a pilot educational program and with the Stavropol Region’s Governor Vladimir Vladimirov.
The year of 2023 was declared the Year of the Teacher and Mentor in Russia to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of one of the founders of Russian pedagogy Konstantin Ushinsky. The corresponding decree was signed by President Vladimir Putin in summer 2022.
