The recommendation to Russians not to travel to Georgia was published by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. It is connected with the tense situation in the Georgian capital and other cities.

What should the Russians do?
The authorities recommend that citizens of the Russian Federation refrain from traveling to the Caucasian republic. Those who are currently in Georgia are advised not to visit crowded places, such as the center of Tbilisi or Batumi.

For help, if necessary, independent Russian travelers can contact the Russian Interests Section at the Swiss Embassy in Georgia. People who are in the Caucasian republic as part of tourist groups can contact the Tourist Assistance Association by phone.

What is happening in Georgia?
In Georgia, protests in connection with the scandalous bill on foreign agents continue for several days. Earlier on Thursday, the ruling Georgian Dream party withdrew the bill due to mass protests. But the opposition continues to rally in major cities. Over 100 people were detained. At this moment, an action is also taking place in Tbilisi. Thousands of people came to the parliament building. They demand the release of detainees, express distrust of the authorities and celebrate the bill's withdrawal.

It should be noted that President Salome Zurabishvili also opposed the bill on foreign agents and planned to veto it.
