In the summer of 2023, the sports base in the mountains of Dagestan, which is being built by the ex-champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Khabib Nurmagomedov, will receive its first guests.
According to Eagle FC (EFC) President Shamil Zavurov, the construction was delayed as several more buildings were added to the original plan.
"We built three hotels for 70-80 people and then realized that the [training] hall would not be able to accommodate so many people. So we decided to build another hall",
he shared.
He further noted that the base was equipped with everything necessary for productive training: there was a swimming pool, saunas, a gym and most importantly, the right height.
"The height there is somewhere around 1,400-1,500 m, and where we run, it’s already 1,800 m",
he noted.
Zavurov noted that according to the new plan, the first sport camp will be held at the base in the summer.
Earlier, Khabib's father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov spoke about the need to build a sports facility.
