A gas explosion took place at a fueling station in the Armenian capital, according to a statement from the Rescue Service of the Republic of Armenia's Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The incident occurred on Acharyan Street in northeastern Yerevan (Avan administrative district). Authorities received the emergency alert at 19:20 local time (18:20 Moscow time).
Two rescue teams were dispatched to the scene, where they discovered a gas explosion near a methane refueling station that subsequently ignited a fire.
Rescue personnel contained the gas leak and extinguished the fire by 19:42 local time (18:42 Moscow time).
Two individuals sustained injuries from the explosion and subsequent fire. Both received medical treatment at the scene.
