EU starts discussions on extension of anti-Russian sanctions

EU Chief Diplomat Federica Mogherini is presiding over discussions on extension of anti-Russian sanctions at the EU Foreign Affairs Council in the light of the attack on Mariupol on January 24. Chief diplomats of Europe recommend extension of the sanctions and expansion of blacklists as a response to violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity by certain Russian individuals and legal bodies. The lists were formed in March 2014 and were last updated in December 2014.
