According to the expert, at the moment Russia is entering into interesting, but risky relations with the West. 

Russia and China sign 30-year contract

Gazprom (Russia) and CNPC (China) have signed a gas contract today worth $400 billion for 30 years. According to the document, Russia will sell gas to China using the eastern route. Gazprom head Alexey Miller has not named the price for gas. Gazprom shares increased in price by 0.9% at 1.37pm, and by 2.4% compared with their value before the news. The MCSE index of Gazprom increased by only 0.01%.

Ukrainian candidates for president continue electoral campaigns

Petr Poroshenko, a candidate for president of Ukraine, promised to start his work at the president’s office with efforts to move towards integration into the European Union. He assured that Ukraine will start receiving gas from Slovakia in October and become independent from Russian gas in 2015.

Only 9% of people feel fully secure, compared with 14% in September 2012. 18% of Russians questioned in 2012 said that they preferred not to think about it. The Levada Center questioned 1603 people in 45 regions in late October.
