The law on the reform of the Russian Academy of Sciences was adopted by the State Duma on September 18 and approved by the Federation Council on the eve of its signing by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin; its entry into force was discussed by the Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Dmitry Livanov and chairman of the Council for Science at the Ministry, Vice-Rector of Moscow State University Alexei Khokhlov. They set out the key provisions of the law on the reform of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which is about to become a reality.
