 The Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) to transport Azerbaijani gas to Europe may be connected to the Trans-Anatolia Pipeline (TANAP) or Interconnector Turkey-Greece) ITG), head of the TAP section for foreign affairs and communications Michael Hoffman told Trend on Tuesday.TAP signed a deal on technical cooperation with the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) last month and a deal on forming a consortium for development of the Shah Deniz Field.

Georgian and Norwegian petroleum companies to boost cooperation

 The Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation had consultations with Statoil (Norway), Trend reports.The Norwegian company shared experience and information with Georgian officials for two days. Statoil quits Iraq’s Western Kurna-2

Statoil (Norway) has quit the Western Kurna-2 project in Iraq, selling 18.75% of shares in the project to Russia’s LUKOIL, ITAR-TASS reports.LUKOIL CEO Vagit Alekperov said that Russia has all it needs to develop Western Kurna-2 independently. LUKOIL will soon conclude consolidation of 75% of the project. Iraq owns 25% in the project. The field has 12.9 billion barrels of oil reserves.

Russian President to provide additional tax discounts for developemnt of Shtokman gas field

Russian President Vladimir Putin has promised to provide additionaltax discounts for development of the Shtokman Gas Field ifnecessary, RIA-Novosti reports, referring to Alexei Miller, the CEO ofthe Russian company Gazprom.The Shtockman gas project is shared by Gazprom (51 percent stake),France's Total (25 percent) and Norway's Statoil (24 percent).The Shtokman field is located 600 kilometers northeast of Murmansk inthe Russian sector.

Nabucco has positive hopes for Black Sea

The Azerbaijani-Turkish Trans-Anatolia Gas Pipeline (TANAP) may become an alternative to Nabucco, Statoil Azerbaijan President Lars Sorensen said, Trend reports.Statoil is a partner of the consortium for development of the Shah Deniz Gas Field with 25.5% of shares. The contract on Shah Deniz development was signed on June 4, 1996. Other shareholders of the project are BP (operator) – 25.5%, NICO - 10%, Total - 10%, LUKAgip - 10%, TPAO - 9% and SOCAR - 10%.

Turkey and Azerbaijan signed a memorandum on TANAP. 80% share of the project belongs to Azerbaijan’s SOCAR and 20% to Turkey’s BOTAS, 1news.az cites SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev as saying.He said that information on Turkey planning to increase its share is false. SOCAR offered to sell part of its share to foreign companies. Abdullayev added that BP and Statoil have filed bids for shares. Ukraine wants a part in the project, he says.According to Abdullayev, SOCAR wants to remain the manager of the pipeline.
