Russia has received a quarter-million liters of Georgian alcohol

Georgia’s Shukhman Wines sends sour wine to Russia

 Russian Chief Sanitary Inspector Gennady Onishchenko said that the three wines sent by Shukhman Wines (Georgia) for sales in Russia were sour, Interfax reports.Onishchenko registered 9 wines of Brothers Askaneli, but banned five cognac types.234 Georgian wines were applied for registry in Russia. 102 alcohol drinks of 8 companies have been registered. 93 drinks of 6 companies are being studied. 

2 out of 36 Georgian wine makers register in Russia

2 out of 36 wine makers of Georgia have presented their documents to the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare, RIA Novosti cites Chief Sanitary Inspector Gennady Onishchenko.Russian experts visited Georgia on February 25 – March 1, 2013, to test quality of Georgian products.

Georgian wine has high demand

 The demand for Georgian wines increased by 18.4% in January-September 2012, compared with the same period in 2011, Business Georgia reports.Georgia exported wine worth $42.646 million at the said period of 2012, compared with $36.023 in the period of 2011.Wine is the top 9 product for export in Georgia. It has a share of 2.4% of all Georgian exports.
