Putin and Erdogan discuss Israeli-Palestinian conflict

Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Ankara said.

According to a statement from the Turkish leader's office, the Heads of State discussed the current escalation of the conflict between Israel and Palestine, which began on October 7 with the Hamas attack on Israel.

In addition to this, Putin and Erdoğan talked about the humanitarian situation in the region.

In turn, the Kremlin press service noted that the leaders expressed concern about the growing number of civilian casualties and the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. The inadmissibility of attacks on residential areas, religious and social facilities was also emphasized.

Let us remind you that the issue of war between Palestine and Israel was raised and at a meeting in the 3+3 format in Tehran the day before. The Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation and Türkiye, Sergey Lavrov and Hakan Fidan, also took part in it. The joint statement following the event also mentioned the issue of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict: all participants agreed that attacks on civilians were unacceptable.
