According to the human rights organization HRANA, operating in the Islamic Republic, at least 572 people have been killed since the unrest began.
The organization noted that 503 protesters and 69 security forces have been killed so far, according to Sky News. However, HRANA cautions that the actual number could be significantly higher.
The total number of detentions during the protests has surpassed 10,600 individuals.
Large-scale protests engulfed Iran late last year amid a collapse of the national currency and massive inflation, with protesters demanding the resignation of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
