Today, a group of Russians vacationing in Antalya were unable to get to Sochi due to a bird hitting one of the airliner engines. The captain of the plane noticed the breakdown and ordered the aircraft to be returned to Antalya airport.
Today, the Azur Air airliner, on which vacationing Russians were returning from Antalya to Sochi, after several minutes in the air, turned around and landed at the departure airport on the orders of the captain.
The captain of the plane soon after takeoff suspected that a bird had crashed into the engine. Currently, the aircraft’s engines are being inspected by technicians to eliminate the risks of a possible accident and re-attempt to transport the Russians to Sochi.
The situation does not have emergency status; passengers are not allowed to leave the plane. The tour operator that organized the charter flight confirmed that the plane returned to Antalya due to a suspected engine problem after it was hit by a bird.
