Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz in response to aggression and will keep it shut "as long as it takes," Tehran’s ambassador to Tokyo Peyman Saadat said.
According to the envoy, the U.S. and Israel effectively took the global economy hostage by attacking Iran.
Earlier, in response to the U.S. attacks, Iran’s top military command announced the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital chokepoint for global oil shipments, warning all vessels to stay away.
