New US ambassador to Azerbaijan to settle Karabakh conflict

The new American ambassador to Azerbaijan, Matthew Bryza, stated that the priority aim of his work is a peaceful and just settling of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Bryza said this at a reception in his honour organized by USACC, Trend reports.Bryza stated that he aims to improve relations between Azerbaijan and the US, adding that Azerbaijan suggested a wide range of possibilities in cooperation, not only in the sphere of oil and gas production.

The new US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Matthew Bryza, took the oath inWashington, in the presence of Azerbaijani Ambassador to the USAYashar Aliyev, Trend cites the press-secretary of the US diplomaticmission Kis Bin.Bryza was appointed by the US President Barack Obama ahead of the nextSenate session in December 2011. The White House put the candidatureof Bryza for voting at the Senate.If approved, Bryza will head the US diplomatic mission in Azerbaijanfor three years.
