During an interview with Rossiya 1 TV correspondent Pavel Zarubin, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has commented on the importance of the meeting between President Vladimir Putin and US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
Dmitry Peskov explained that the meeting was essential to provide instructions to working groups ahead of their negotiations in Abu Dhabi.
"It was agreed that the security working group would hold talks in Abu Dhabi the following day. These groups needed to receive their instructions. That's why the meeting with Witkoff was so important",
Peskov reported.
The trilateral security talks involving representatives from Russia, the United States, and Ukraine concluded in the UAE on Saturday.
