Iran has compiled a list of foreign vessels linked to US and Israeli interests that could become legitimate military targets, according to Mojtaba Ferdowsipour, head of the Iranian Embassy in Cairo.
"We have information about vessels belonging to companies that assist the US and Israel. The Ministry of Intelligence forwards this information to the National Security Council. The Council approves it and passes it on to the Iranian armed forces, which then adds them to the target list",
Ferdowsipour said.
The Strait of Hormuz has been blocked to international shipping for over a month, with Iran only allowing vessels from friendly countries such as Russia, China, and India to transit.
