Moscow mayor offers plan to move all vegetable warehouses

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said that disorders at Biryulyovo on Sunday had been provoked by high density of migrants working at the Pokrovskaya Vegetable Warehouse and trigger by murder of Yegor Shcherbakov, Vedomosti reports.The mayor proposed a plan to replace all vegetable warehouses with automatic warehouses and move out of the city. The facilities should be checked more often than it is allowed in the 2010 law on reduction of administrative pressure, Sobyanin believes.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin has dismissed the city government, according to articles 40 and 41 of the Moscow City Charter and article 6 of the Moscow Law of December 20, 2006, RIA Novosti reports.The government will continue work until formation of a new one.

Moscow acting Mayo Sergey Sobyanin said that the city needed only 200,000 foreign workers, Interfax reports.The acting mayor noted that there was a deficit of about 2 million workplaces in the city. Over half of vacancies are occupied by residents of the Moscow Region. Many workers arrive from Russian regions.Sobyanin added that the number of foreign workers in Moscow exceeded the need 2-3-fold.

The WCIOM polling center of Russia predicts that Moscow acting Mayor Sergey Sobyanin will get 67.4% of votes during the elections on September 8, RIA Novosti reports.According to forecasts, Alexey Navalny will get 13% of votes, Ivan Melnikov (deputy head of the Central Committee of the Communist Party) 6.5%, Yabloko head Sergey Mitrokhin 5.4%, LDPR member Mikhail Degtyarev and A Fair Russia head Nikolai Levichev 3.3% each.The polling center expects 48% of the city’s population to take part in the polls.

RIA Novosti is hosting a round-table conference to discuss prospects of candidates for Moscow mayor. According to the VCIOM polling center, 54% of people questioned will vote for acting Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, oppositionist Alexey Navalny 9%, CPRF candidate Ivan Melnikov 2-4%. Accusations against Navalny over the Kirovles case increased his popularity from 71% to 80%.
