Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi is going to visit the Russian Federation in the coming days. The purpose of the visit is to establish a security zone around the Zaporozhye NPP (ZNPP).

Grossi noted that the work done to create a security zone around the ZNPP was already showing results. According to him, the current situation around the ZNPP shows that the last few months "have not been without progress".

At the same time, the head of the IAEA noted that this was a "zone of extreme instability".

"Therefore, the ongoing hostilities affect the negotiations, of course. I would not describe the process of the last few months as a process that had not lead to any progress", the head of the agency said.

Further, Grossi said that the topic of establishing a security zone around the ZNPP was discussed with both the Russian and the Ukrainian sides at the highest level. According to Grossi, negotiations in this direction will be continued.
