CSTO to demonstrate better reaction to challenges
The Collective Security treaty Organization (CSTO) plans to improve the system of reaction to challenges, CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha said at the Council of Defense Ministers in Astana, RIA Novosti reports.Defense ministers of CSTO states will meet in Moscow on May 15. CSTO press secretary Vladimir Zaynetdinov said that they have already discussed mechanisms of military-technical aid to CSTO member states when their sovereignty and territorial unity is at risk.
CSTO collective forces to receive modern weapons
Defense ministers of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will meet in Astana today to discuss armament of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (CRRF), press secretary of the CSTO Vladimir Zaynetdinov said, RIA Novosti reports.The ministers will hold a session chaired by Kazakh Defense Minister Adilbek Jaksybekov. They will talk about modern weapons and equipment for the collective forces and military and economic cooperation.
CSTO defense ministers to gather in Astana on May 3
A meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will take place in Astana on May 3. The meeting will be chaired by the Defense Minister of Kazakhstan, Adilbek Dzhaksybekov, RIA Novosti reports referring to an announcement published by the organization. CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha will attend the upcoming meeting and will present a report there.
CSTO orders Russian weapons worth $500 million
Members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) have purchased weapons in Russia worth about $500 million, CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha said, RIA Novosti reports.CSTO members have advantages when purchasing Russian arms, Bordyuzha clarified, adding that the purchase sum exceeds that of 2010 twofold.The secretary general noted at the 10th international conference on stability and security of Eurasia that advanced weapons and vehicles are the main purchase.
CSTO opposed to aggression against Iran
The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is opposed to violence against Iran, CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha said, RIA Novosti reports.The CSTO wants negotiations between Iran and six mediators for full-fledged cooperation with IAEA, he said in Moscow.Russia, UK, Germany, China, USA and france are the six mediators persuading Iran together with the IAEA to stop uranium enrichment as a threat for nuclear non-proliferation.
Kazakhstan appoints new representative to CSTO
Kazakhstan, the chairing country of the CSTO, remains devoted to the main goals of the organization, Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov said in Astana on Friday, Trend reports.Kazakhstan announced its priorities in December 2012. They include strengthening the responsibility zone of the CSTO, enforcing the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces, protection of aerospace, information security and operative reaction to emergency situations.The CSTO controls the situation in Syria, its tendencies, CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha said, KAZINFORM reports.

CSTO Secretary general Nikolai Bordyuzha said at a press conference with Secretary of the Armenian National Security Council that the new CSTO strategy and concept will clarify whether Russian nuclear weapons would protect its allies, News Armenia reports.The documents contain details of further military cooperation between CSTO members in combating drug trafficking, protection of information space. He is the leader of the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan, one of the oldest and most notable parties in the republic, the party was active in driving out President Askar Akayev in March 2005 and President Kurmanbek Bakiyev in April 2010.
