‘VIM-Avia’ begins Moscow-Baku flights

The ‘VIM-Avia’ airline company has opened flights from Moscow's Domodedovo Airport to Baku, Vesti.az reports, citing ‘Transport Today’.The flights NN 443/444 will be carried out by Boeing 757-200s on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The planes will lift off at 08.05 Moscow time and arrive in Baku at 11.50 local time. They will leave Baku at 13.00 local time and arrive at Domodedovo at 14.50 Moscow time.

Russian Ministry of Transport to form unified North Caucasus air company

The Russian Ministry of Transport intends to found a unified air company for the whole North Caucasus Federal District on the basis of the "Kavminvodyavia" air company.If local officials support the decision, the administration of the "Mineralnye Vody" aiport will be handed over to "Aeroflot , the Kommersant newspaper cites Igor Levitin, the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, as saying.

Russian Yerevan-Moscow plane makes emergency landing in ‘Zvartnots’

he Armenian main civil aviation department has confirmed an incident with a Russian plane belonging to ‘Aeroflot’, flying on Sunday between Yerevan and Moscow. A bird flew into the plane’s engine, RIA Novosti reports. According to News Armenia, citing the department’s press-secretary Nelli Cherchinyan, the plane returned to Yerevan's ‘Zvartnots’ airport. No one was injured in the incident. The passengers used an alternative flight to Moscow. The plane was checked for damage and went back into service.

Kaliningrad’s Khabrovo airport has temporarily stopped flights due to volcanic eruptions in Iceland, ITAR-TASS reports, citing an airport spokesperson.   According to the spokesperson, the cloud of volcanic dust is dangerous for airplanes. She also said that both Lithuania and Latvia have closed their airspaces.
