Within the framework of the visit of the OSCE Minsk Group to Baku andYerevan on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement, emphasis was put on thecommitment of the three countries to a peaceful solution, based on theHelsinki principles of non-use of force, territorial integrity and theequal rights of all peoples for self identification, Trend reports.They noted the progress reached in Italy by the three presidents ofthe USA, Russia and France and their affirmation of the declaration on26th June 2010.

Co-chairs of OSCE Minsk Group meet Azerbaijani defense minister

Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Abiyev met with the co-chairs ofOSCE Minsk Group today. According to 1news.az, citing the ministry’spress-service, Abiyev told the co-chairs that in order for peacefulsettlement of Nagorno-Karabakh problem Armenia has to withdraw itsforces from the occupied territory.The minister said that it is time for the co-chairs to demand Armeniafree Nagorno-Karabakh.

Iran insists on Russia fulfilling S-300 shipment

Iranian Minister of Defense Ahmad Vahidi said that Russia must fulfill its obligations on the contract of shipping S-300 AA missile complexes, the Russian service of Iranian state radio reports.Vahidi said that the contract is not restricted by the UN resolutions. International Criminal Court notes a claim against ex-president of Armenia

The International Criminal Court in Hague noted the claim against the second Armenian president, Robert Kocharyan, press-service of Armenian oppositional national congress reports.The congress reported on June 3rd that they filed a suit to the Hague court against Kocharyan due to the events of 1-2 March 2008, when the police and supporters of Levon Ter-Petrosyan, who lost the presidential elections, had fights, leading to 10 people dead. On 1st August 2008 Ter-Petrosyan established the Armenian national congress.

CSTO delegation heads to Kyrgyzstan

She expressed support for the OSCE Minsk Group and the work of its 3 co-chairs.

Iran threatens Russia with sanctions if S-300 shipment is not fulfilled

Iranian Minister of Defense Ahmed Vakhidi said that refusing to ship AA S-300 missiles violates international law and Russian laws, APA reports, citing IRNA.He said that after the introduction of sanctions against Iran, Russia did not clarify their position on the S-300 missile shipment. 5900 citizens of Armenia have been deported from Turkey during the last three years. EU approves US sanctions against Iran

The heads of EU countries participated in a summit in Brussels andapproved the new sanctions against Iran, France Press reports.The UN Security Council passed a new resolution on June 9th,introducing new sanctions against Iran for its refusal to stop uraniumenrichment. This was the fourth resolution of the Security Council dueto Tehran’s refusal to follow international regulations on its nuclearprogram, RIA Novosti reports.
