The State Duma today voted 382 to 40 for a resolution to allow a criminal case to be brought against a deputy from the LDPR faction, Ashot Yeghiazaryan, RIA-Novosti reports. Yeghiazaryan can be prosecuted under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code

Most of the candidates at the upcoming local elections in Dagestan donot belong to any party, reports RIA Novosti. 6,132 candidates areindependent, comparing to 5,215 nominated by United Russia, 1,112 byPravoe Delo, 819 by the Communist Party, 417 from the LDPR and 52 fromYabloko.
At a plenary meeting the State Duma voted down amendments to the bill "On Preventing Terrorism", Yuga.ru reports. The leader of the LDPR fraction, V. Zhirinovsky, had earlier proposed confiscating the property of terrorists' families. Such a method would prevent terrorist attacks, he thinks.
