The Iranian Energy Minister, head of the Armenian-Iranian intergovernmental commission Majid Namdzhu, said today that Yerevan and Tehran have agreed to hold discussions on the construction of the Iran-Armenia railway."There is an agreement to hold a discussion of various issues related to the construction of the railway, with the participation of all stakeholders, in Armenia or in Iran,” Namdzhu said after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on the results of the 11th meeting of the Committee held in Yerevan on 23 -25 October, ARKA reports.

According to the latest data of the Customs Administration of Iran, in the first four months of this year (20.03 to 21.07.12) the volume of trade between Iran and China decreased by 2.7% to over $ 3.7 billion, Iran News reports, referring to ISNA.Exports of Iran to China fell by 11% to $2.6 billion, and legal imports from China increased by 4% to $2.1 billion.

Iran plans to boost trade with China up to 100 billion dollars

The head of the Iranian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Asadolla Asgarouladi, saidthat in 2011 trade turnover between the two countries will exceed 40billion dollars during his speech at the conference "InvestmentOpportunities in Iran" at a Beijing shopping center, Iran News reports.Asgarouladi noted that this figure could even exceed 42 billion dollars.Asgarouladi also said that the volume of trade between Iran and China isexpected to amount to 100 billion dollars.

Despite Western efforts to reduce trade volume between Iran and China,Beijing has increased imports of Iranian oil, as proven by recentstatistics, IRNA reports referring to the Chinese oil company"Sinopec".In 2011, the Sinopec company  imports daily from Iran up to 90,000barrels of light oil, which is approximately 40% more than comparedwith the same period last year.According to Chinese customs administration, the exchange of oil andpetroleum products between China and Iran has grown significantly

Iranian-Chinese trade turnover to exceed $40 billion

The Iranian Ambassador to China, Mahdi Safari, says commercial transactions between Tehran and Beijing are growing, so that total trade turnover could exceed $40 billion by the middle of March 2012,  Press TV reports.“Trade ties between Iran and China exceeded $21 billion in the first six months of 2011,” Safari said in the Chinese capital of Beijing on Tuesday.
