It will be warm in the capital region today, but very damp - it will be raining cats and dogs, especially in the afternoon, from 12:00 to 15:00. The Russian Emergencies Ministry even issued a storm warning for this reason, asking residents to stay home if possible.
"Since 1948, when the VDNKh weather station opened, this day was so rainy only once - back in 1951, when the precipitation gauges collected 11.8 mm. It is still a record value for March 26. We can forecast that it is highly probable that today's weekend will become the wettest, at least in the last 75 years, and the daily record of precipitation will be broken", Evgeniy Tishkovets, a leading specialist of the Phobos weather center, wrote on his Telegram channel.
Atmospheric pressure will be low, it will be cloudy, heavy rains will be from time to time, and the air in the capital and the region will warm up to plus 8.
"It is cloudy in Moscow, heavy rains sometimes will take place, the air temperature is plus 6 - plus 8, in the region - plus 4 - plus 9", Tishkovets said.
The wind is expected to be warm, but in the evening it will change direction to the northwest, its speed will be 4-9 m/s.
Atmospheric pressure will continue to fall and by the end of the day will be 733 mmHg.
However, there are some advantages even in this type of weather, since after such rains, the region's snowdrifts will finally melt.
