The infrastructure of the Italian-Azerbaijani University is now ready for operation. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and Italian President Sergio Mattarella took part in the inauguration of several buildings within the academic complex.
Following a tour of the facilities, the First Lady and the Italian President met with faculty members and interacted with students.
The university was established on President Ilham Aliyev's initiative five years ago during his official visit to Italy, with construction beginning the following year. It will focus on training students in the most in-demand specialties in the modern world.
President Sergio Mattarella arrived in Azerbaijan on September 30, 2025, for an official visit that also includes meetings with the Italian community in Baku.
