On 8th April Vladimir Putin, President of Russian Federation, signed a decree according to which Iran can be given the surface-to-air missile system S-300. A representative of the Iranian Ministry of Defense said that the supply of this complex favours strengthening cooperation between Moscow and Tehran.

Turkish Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said today that Turkey would sell its share in the TANAP project if it gets a good offer. He added that some countries were interested in the deal. Oil analyst Seymour Aliyev told Vestnik Kavkaza that Azerbaijan – as the owner of 58% of the shares – would hardly be interested in extending its share, so as not to be compelled to increase the financing of the project, which is currently evaluated at around $10-11 billion. The analyst assures that Turkey is not planning to quit the project. Turkmenistan or Iran may be interested in it to transport gas.
