Baku hands over remains of two soldiers to Armenian side

Azerbaijan handed over the remains of two military personnel to the Armenian side, the National Security Service of Armenia reports.

The department said that the soldiers allegedly died as a result of a large-scale provocation in Yerevan in September 2022.

The State Commission of Azerbaijan on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons said that the remains of two people had been found as a result of search operations carried out in the liberated territories of the country.

The commission noted that the remains were found on the Bugdadag hill in the Dashkasan district and near Mount Dava in the Kalbajar district. The Commission added that the remains belong to Armenian soldiers who died during the fighting in September 2022.

In addition to this, during an examination at the research center of the Main Directorate of Military Medicine of the State Security Service, it was confirmed that the remains belong to the Armenian Armed Forces' missing soldiers.

The State Commission emphasized that Azerbaijan transferred the remains of soldiers to Armenia without the participation of a third party or intermediary, demonstrating good intentions and commitment to the principles of humanism once again.

Let us remind you that in September 2022, a provocation was committed by the Armenian Armed Forces in the Kalbajar, Lachin and Dashkasan directions.

The Azerbaijani military took decisive retaliatory measures in response to Yerevan's actions. They prevented the expansion of the conflict and suppressed enemy firing points.
