Kallas: EU countries support 20th anti-Russian sanctions package

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas confirmed member states' readiness to commence work on a twentieth sanctions package against Russia.

According to Kallas, EU countries are ready to begin working on new measures immediately after the adoption of the 19th package. 

"The EU will begin developing the 20th sanctions package as soon as possible. We must understand that the 19th sanctions package is not the end",

Kaja Kallas said.

The diplomat previously indicated the nineteenth sanctions package could receive formal approval at the EU summit on October 23.
