Parliamentary commission on food prices to begin work in Georgia

A special parliamentary commission established to address high food prices in Georgia will begin its work in approximately one week, according to local media reports.

The commission's formation is scheduled for February 3-4, with its full operational work commencing on February 4-5.

It is expected to operate for three months.

 

The 14-member commission will include seven representatives from the ruling Georgian Dream party. The remaining seats will be allocated as follows: three each for the People's Power party and the Gakharia – For Georgia party, with one seat going to a representative of the European Socialists.
