Russian Deputy Minister for Economic Development Andrey Klepach said that devaluation of the Kazakh currency, tenge, this morning will have little impact on Russia, Interfax reports.He noted that Kazakhstan was exporting most of its products to faraway states and was importing a lot of food and non-food products from Belarus and China and less from Russia.The deputy minister believes that the value of the Russian ruble is more important for Kazakhstan than the value of the tenge.

 Kazakhstan will launch the Astana-Shchukinsk highway with a fee of $13 (200 tenge) per car on May 31. The road will lie between Astana and Borovoye, Trend reports.Fees for buses will depend on the number of seats, ranging from 5 to 10 tenge. 5-20 tenge will be paid for trucks, depending on their weight. Rescue vehicles, ambulances, fire trucks, police cars and motorbikes will be free of payments.Pay roads exist in over 30 countries, including Russia, Belarus, Germany, Turkey, Malaysia. Such roads will reduce the burden for maintaining them.

The upper limit of subsidies for their purchase increased from 19,500 tenge to 25,000 tenge.

Mangistau prosecutors have prohibited the use of five ships in the Caspian Sea for violating safety regulations. The crew of one of the ships covering up an emergency situation, two ships had malfunctioning equipment, News Kazakhstan reports.The “Aktobe” and “Atyrau” tankers of Kazmortransflot were exploited with malfunctioning hydrocompasses and navigation systems.Over 30 ship companies operate in the Mangistau Region of Kazakhstan.  The State Agency for Control of Economic and Corruption Crime of Kazakhstan proposed a ban on cash outs by legal bodies at the conference on crime prevention in Astana, Interfax reports.Marat Ahmetjanov, deputy head of the agency, said that states suffering from the global economic recession are trying to reduce cash turnover. Italy banned cash payments worth over €1000 in late 2011. Spain is taking similar measures.

Transit of Russian oil through the Atasu-Alashankou Pipeline in Kazakhstan will cost $149.22 (1673.89 tenge) per ton for 1000 km, Vzglyad reports.The fee was set by the Kazakh State Agency for Regulation of Natural Monopolies for September 1. No transit contracts have been signed yet, but Russian companies have sent letters.The Kazakh Ministry for Oil and Gas set a quota of 250,000 tons of oil for transit from Russia to China. The quota will most likely remain unchanged until the end of the year.

Kazakhstan plans to drop its visa requirements for 34 states, Minister for Industry and New Technologies Aset Isekeshev said, KAZINFORM reports.Such measures are taken to develop tourism. Official statistics show that over 5.6 million tourists visited Kazakhstan in 2011, over 5.3 million of domestic tourists. Tourism brought an income of 74 billion tenge.$1 = 147.82 tenge.
