Turkiye in talks with Qatar and Oman to buy fighter jets

Turkiye is negotiating with Qatar and Oman to acquire Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets as part of its effort to bolster its air force capabilities, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

“We discussed the ongoing negotiations with the Qatari and Omani sides regarding the purchase of Eurofighter warplanes,” Erdogan said.

According to him, the talks on this technically detailed matter are progressing positively.

"Our Air Force will become much stronger with these jets," Erdogan said.

Earlier, it was reported that Turkey aims to purchase 40 Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets as a stopgap measure to strengthen its fleet.
