The United States, through an intermediary country, proposed a two-day ceasefire to Iran on April 2, to which Tehran "responded" by increasing the intensity of its attacks, the Fars agency reported, citing a source.
According to its information, the proposal followed "the emergence of serious problems for the US Armed Forces due to a miscalculation of the military potential of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Washington was supposedly negotiating with new Iranian authorities, whom he called more sensible, to end the armed conflict.
The Iranian foreign ministry has repeatedly refuted the U.S. leader’s statements, noting that Tehran had received several settlement proposals from the U.S. through intermediaries, which turned out to be "illogical" and "excessively harsh."
