Memorandum on Turkey-Greece-Italy pipeline signed

The memorandum on mutual understanding in constructing the Turkey-Greece-Italy pipeline, transporting Azerbaijani gas to Europe, has been signed in Ankara, Turkey. According to the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Tanner Yildyz, construction should be completed in 2017, the pipeline will supply 11.6 billion cubic m of gas annually, ANS reports.

Turkey puts Azerbaijani gas price up to $300 per thousand cm

Turkey has increased the price of gas bought in Azerbaijan within theframework of the Stage-1 development of the 'Shakh-Deniz' project,1news.az reports, citing the Turkish newspaper 'Sabakh'. The price forone thousand cubic meters rose from $120 to $300.'Shakh-Deniz-2' gas will cost more.The price for gas transit along the Turkish territory will reach $45,making the Turkish profit from gas transit $300 million.

Iran seals contracts amounting to $21 billion

The Iranian authorities have signed contracts on development of theworld's largest gas-field "South Pars" amounting to $21 billion, Trendreports, citing Iranian media.Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called these deals "a new chapter in the historyof the Iranian oil industry", pointing out that the development of"South Pars" will be carried out using only Iranian technologies. USA and Armenia discuss nuclear security issues

Dagestani president pays official visit to Baku

Iran cuts oil production

Sanctions and underinvestment have cut Iran's oil production capacity by at least 300,000 barrels per day, depriving the country of billions of dollars of revenues, reports Financial Times.The slow development of new oilfields and the poor condition of many existing wells have caused the fall, according to Iranian and western experts."Oil production capacity has dropped by probably about 300,000-400,000 bpd," said a former senior official in Iran's government. His figures were consistent with those of a western oil official.

SOCAR will continue gas exports to Russia

The explosion at the gas pipeline Mozdok-Kazimagomed in Dagestan didnot affect Azerbaijani gas exports to Russia, the State Oil Company ofAzerbaijan (SOCAR) said on Friday, Trend reports.The daily export of Azerbaijani gas to Russia is around 2.5-3 millioncubic meters. According to SOCAR, Azerbaijan exported 261.7 millioncubic meters of gas in January-April and 89.6 million cubic meters inApril.The Mozdok-Kazimagomed pipeline has a capacity of 5 billion cubicmeters of gas annually.

Kazakh oil companies discuss waste utilization issues

Russia expects Iran to exchange uranium

Exploratory drilling on Absheron to start in October

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and French Total stillintend to go ahead with exploratory drilling at Absheron in theAzerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The head of SOCAR's drillingdepartment, Shaik Bekirov, said that the drilling will start inOctober this year using the Lider drilling installation, 1news.azreports.According to Bekirov, the new exploratory drill hole will be situatednear the first one, "which is a more beneficial spot".
