In early October, Dushanbe will host meetings of the Council of CIS Heads of State and the Council of Foreign Ministers. The participants will discuss defense cooperation and energy security, First Deputy CIS Secretary General Igor Petrishenko stated.
"The meetings of the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth will be held on October 9 and 10 in Dushanbe (Tajikistan)",
Igor Petrishenko stated.
The agenda includes regional security issues and measures to counter extremism. CIS officials also plan to discuss the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's (SCO) application to grant observer status to the Commonwealth.
