Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called on Japan to share its experience in dealing with past nuclear disasters.
He emphasized that Japan could assist the Islamic Republic in securing facilities that sustained significant damage during Israeli and American strikes in June, according to Kyodo News.
"I have no doubt that Japan has good knowledge on how to improve the safety of nuclear facilities, and that knowledge can be shared with Iran",
Abbas Araghchi said.
According to Araghchi, the bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities was perhaps the largest violation of international law ever committed against a nuclear facility under IAEA protection.
This request follows a series of attacks earlier this year. On the night of June 12-13, the Israeli Air Force struck Iranian military and nuclear sites. Iran retaliated within 24 hours. A week later, the United States launched strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities, with a ceasefire between Israel and Iran being reached several days later.
