Former Russian ambassador to Türkiye, Israel, and Kuwait passes away

Pyotr Stegny, who represented Russia's interests as ambassador to Türkiye, Israel, and Kuwait, passed away on Saturday. The deceased diplomat is the author of several works on the history of international relations.

Pyotr Stegny, former Russian ambassador to Türkiye, Israel, and Kuwait, passed away today, Alexander Yakovenko, former head of the Russian diplomatic mission in the United Kingdom, informed.

"Today, a distinguished Soviet and Russian diplomat, retired Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, a prominent specialist in the Middle East, who headed our diplomatic missions in Kuwait, Turkiye, and Israel, passed away,”

– Alexander Yakovenko reported.

Stegniy's diplomatic career began in 1968 and spanned over 40 years. His final job was at the Russian diplomatic mission in Israel, where he served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation until 2011.
