 10 priority projects of Dagestani acting President Ramazan Abdulatipov were presented at the Dagestani State University on Wednesday. Prime Minister Mukhtar Mejidov hosted the presentation. Each project will be supervised by an executive responsible for their realization.

Makhachkala imam predicts tensions over ban of hijabs at school

 Magomedrasul Saaduyev, the imam of the central mosque of Makhachkala, said at the anti-terrorist commission on Wednesday that adoption of school uniforms and bans of Shariah clothes may cause social tensions and school boycotts.Dagestani acting President Ramazan Abdulatipov agreed with Saaduyev and added that he had filed proposals on the issue. He said that he had proposed development of a new uniform with the Ministries of Education and Culture and the Muslim Administration.

5 heads of educational directorates dismissed in Dagestan

 Five heads of district educational directorates and 8 school principals have been dismissed in Dagestan for violations during the Unified State Exam, leader of the republic Ramazan Abdulatipov said.Heads of directorates of the Dakhadayevsky, Levashinsky, Kulinsky, Tabasaransky Districts and Kizilyurt waere dismissed. The Education Minister Artur Dalgatov will consider dismissing head of the Shamilsky District.

Dagestani president donates over 1000 books to Chechen National Library

 Acting Dagestani President Ramazan Abdulatipov marked the 10th anniversary of the Chechen Constitution on March 23 and the opening of the Chechen National Library, RIA Dagestan reports.The library has over 60,000 tomes and will increase it to millions in the near future. Abdulatipov promised to grant over 1000 books. Dagestani Deputy Minister for Culture Magomedrasul Magomedov visited the national library and presented the books on May 29.

 Chechen Ombudsman Nurdi Nukhajiyev has accused the Rossiya TV Channel of ethnic strife, Grozny-Inform reports.The official believes that the channel has been encouraging separation of North Caucasus since 2012. He noted a report by the channel’s journalist Yevgeny Popov in New York about discrimination of Russian speakers in the Stavropol Territory on Sunday. The ombudsman points out connection between the report and arrival of Dagestani acting President Ramazan Abdulatipov and Chechen Speaker of Parliament Dukuvakha Abdurakhmanov to Stavropol.

Dagestani acting president discusses gas industry

Dagestani acting President Ramazan Abdulatipov visited Gazprom Transgaz Makhachkala to discuss gas developments. He noted that the republic planned “new industrialization”, construction of new factories and reconstruction of gas pipelines. The pipelines will be extended to 1,500km in length, gas distribution networks to 13,000km. The Mozdok – Kazimagomed pipeline section needs reconstruction. Abdulatipov pointed out the problem of land for housing construction near pipelines.
