Georgia's new ambassador to Armenia assumes duties

The President of Armenia received the new Georgian Ambassador. During the meeting, Vahagn Khachaturian and Giorgi Sharvashidze discussed the relations between the two countries and the situation in the region. The Ambassador also presented his credentials to the President.

Yerevan hosted a meeting between Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturian and Georgia's new Ambassador Giorgi Sharvashidze, the press service of the Armenian president reported.

The sides discussed relations between the two countries and regional issues. Newly appointed ambassador to Armenia also presented his credentials to the Armenian president.

The Armenian president noted that Georgian-Armenian relations can serve as an example for many countries of the world.

In turn, the ambassador stressed that he would do everything in his power to ensure that the interaction between Tbilisi and Yerevan developed and new strong economic and cultural ties were formed.

In addition, the need for a stable peace in the South Caucasus was stressed during the conversation.

Giorgi Sharvashidze was appointed Georgian Ambassador to Armenia in January 2023. Previously, he served as the rector of Tbilisi State University for 6 years.
