A "Maidan" in Georgia has once again been averted, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated after the protests following the municipal elections.

"The attempt to overthrow the government also failed. In the past four years, we saw already the fifth attempt at organizing "NatsMaidan"",

Kobakhidze said.

The Prime Minister emphasized the need to neutralize the United National Movement and foreign agents to establish stable democracy. This, he said, is the duty of the ruling Georgian Dream party to its more than 1.1 million voters.

Kobakhidze warned that perpetrators of violence against state institutions would face consequences, noting enhanced identification capabilities compared to previous protests.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister acknowledged the failure of the "deep state's" plan to replace the opposition UNM with Lelo and Gakharia for Georgia, which both performed poorly in the elections.

Let us remind you that five people were detained in Georgia overnight. Suspects of organizing post-election protests include public figure and opera singer Paata Burchuladze, UNM member Irakli Nadiradze, former prosecutor Murtaz Zodelava, Strategy Agmashenebeli party member Paata Manjgaladze, and military officer Colonel Lasha Beridze.

According to the Georgian Ministry of Health, a total of 27 people were hospitalized following the protests yesterday, most of whom were law enforcement officers, 21 of whom were injured, and the rest were demonstrators. About three dozen more injured were treated at the scene.
