New Athos Cave ticket prices to rise for tourists in 2026

According to a decree by the Abkhazia's Cabinet of Ministers, the standard adult ticket price will rise to 1,000 rubles, up from 700 rubles in 2025.

Free admission in 2026 will be granted to several categories, including: citizens of Abkhazia, children under eight years old, veterans and disabled veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the Patriotic War of Abkhazia, members of official foreign delegations, foreign journalists, and media personnel accredited to cover events at the New Athos Cave. Previously in 2025, local citizens and schoolchildren were charged a reduced rate of 200 rubles.
