The Rafah Crossing, located on the Gaza-Egypt border, will reopen next week, Ali Shaath, head of the National Governance Committee for the Gaza Strip, announced during the inauguration ceremony of the Board of Peace, which is established at the initiative of US President Donald Trump.
It is specified that the crossing will resume operations in both directions.
The crossing will resume two-way traffic.
"I am pleased to announce the Rafah crossing will open next week in both directions. For Palestinians in Gaza, Rafah is more than a gate. It is a lifeline and symbol of opportunity",
Ali Shaath said.
According to Shaath, the reopening of Rafah marks the first major step in the reconstruction of Gaza.
