Azerbaijani mountaineer Israfil Ashurly conquered the 8,126-meter Nanga Parbat mountain in northern Pakistan.
Israfil Ashurly climbed the peak without using oxygen cylinders. He succeeded only at his third attempt.
Nanga Parbat, also known as “Killer Mountain,” is Pakistan’s second-highest peak and the world’s ninth-highest mountain. Nanga Parbat is also the ninth-highest peak in the world.
Israfil Ashurly had already climbed seven peaks above 8000m - the so-called eight-thousanders.
