Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania to sign agreement for Azerbaijani gas supply

Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania are in the process of agreeing on the details of an infrastructure development agreement in Southeastern Europe, which will facilitate access to Azerbaijani gas. This was announced by the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry.

According to Peter Szijjarto, the document should be completed by May.

He also reminded that Hungary hoped to start importing gas from Azerbaijan during this year. Budapest wants to receive 1-2 billion cubic meters annually, the head of the Hungarian diplomatic mission added.

In addition to this, he drew attention to the fact that a part of the gas can also be supplied through the territory of Türkiye, relevant negotiations with the Turkish leadership are already underway.

Earlier it was reported that in the coming years Azerbaijan was going to significantly increase gas exports to European countries. In particular, four EU members are interested in the deliveries' increase.
