In 2022, Azerbaijan exported 8.7 billion cubic meters of gas from the Shah Deniz field to Turkey, according to Türkiye's Energy Markets Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
Azerbaijan's gas exports to Türkiye grew by 4.96% in December 2022, as compared to the same month in 2021, and stood at 784.39 million cubic meters.
Russia was the largest exporter of natural gas to Türkiye in December 2022 with 2.041 billion cubic meters, a 1.22% decrease year-on-year, followed by Iran (13.78%) and Azerbaijan (13.5%).
Azerbaijan exported one billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas to Europe in January 2023 (the 25% growth), while total Azerbaijani gas exports in the reporting month equaled 2.2 bcm, having grown by 12% on annual basis.
This year, exports of Azerbaijani gas are expected at 24 billion cubic meters.
