Russia is ready, if necessary and upon request, to transfer enriched uranium out of Iran to its own territory or to assist other nations willing to accept it, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko told RTVI in an interview.
"Certainly, if the need arises and the conflict parties reach a corresponding deal, we are ready to take this enriched uranium to our territory or to assist other countries willing to do so, because Russia has vast experience in handling spent fissile material," Borisenko said.
The diplomat noted that IAEA experts lost access to Iranian nuclear facilities following the U.S.-Israeli strikes in June 2025, in part because some of these facilities were simply destroyed by those strikes.
