Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has described President Vladimir Putin’s phone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev as highly significant.
"Indeed, President Aliyev congratulated President Putin on his birthday over the phone," Peskov said.
The Kremlin spokesman noted that the two presidents "also discussed additional topics."
"This is very important," Peskov said.
Earlier today, the Azerbaijani presidential press service reported that Ilham Aliyev made a phone call to Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the conversation, Ilham Aliyev congratulated Vladimir Putin on his birthday. The Russian leader expressed his gratitude for the congratulations. The two heads of state also exchanged views on the current state and prospects of Moscow-Baku ties.
