The world’s governing body for taekwondo, World Taekwondo, has ruled to permit athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate under a neutral status in tournaments authorized by the organization, the Russian national taekwondo team said.
A decision was made to clear Russian and Belarusian athletes for international tournaments. The first tournament with Russian, Belarusian fighters’ participation will be the 2023 World Taekwondo Championship in Azerbaijan.
The 2023 World Taekwondo Championship is scheduled to be held in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, between May 29 and June 6.
