The head of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, believes that the EU's freezing of monetary assistance to the Georgian Ministry of Defense will not affect the country's defense capability. These funds will assist the opponents of the Transparency of Foreign Influence Act.
Today, the mayor of the Georgian capital, Kakha Kaladze, responded to the freezing of EU military support funds, emphasizing that the Georgian Armed Forces will not lose their defense capability because of this.
Yesterday, EU Ambassador Pavel Gerchinsky announced to journalists that Brussels had decided to freeze the allocation of assistance to the Georgian Ministry of Defense in the amount of 30 mln euros, and intends to continue reducing direct support to the government. According to him, this decision was related to the adoption of the law “On Transparency of Foreign Influence” in Georgia.
