Afghanistan has initiated a military operation against Pakistan, according to a spokesman for the 201st Army Corps "Khalid ibn Walid".
"Retaliatory strikes by Afghan government forces against Pakistani troops in Afghanistan's eastern provinces have begun. Three enemy positions have been captured so far",
the Afghan Defense Ministry spokesman stated.
The official clarified that the operation represents Afghanistan's response to the Pakistani Air Force's bombing campaign carried out last weekend.
The spokesman further noted that the operation encompasses the provinces of Khost, Paktia, Nuristan, and other districts.
Last weekend, Pakistan conducted airstrikes on districts in Afghanistan's Nangarhar and Paktika provinces, resulting in dozens of civilian casualties.
