Türkiye's foreign minister Hakan Fidan warned that a U.S. attack on Iran would be "wrong," urging Washington and Tehran to resolve their disputes through diplomacy.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, he called for regional cooperation as the U.S. deploys military assets in the Middle East amid heightened tensions with Iran.

“It’s wrong to start the war again," Hakan Fidan said.

Despite escalating rhetoric between the two nations, Fidan underlined that a diplomatic resolution remains achievable.

The Turkish diplomat advised U.S. officials to address issues with Iran incrementally rather than seeking a comprehensive agreement.

He also said Iran could occupy a "perfect place" in the regional order but must build trust with neighboring countries.

The remarks came as U.S. President Donald Trump announced that a "massive armada," headed by the Aircraft Carrier Abraham Lincoln, is heading to Iran, and warned Iran that "time is running out" to make a deal with the U.S. Iran has warned of a "comprehensive and regret-inducing" response to any aggression.
